When two worlds collide.

Posted by Lorac Monday 14 December 2009

There is such a wonderful feeling when I see a small glimpse of the wildlife right in my back yard. This handsome young buck was feeding off the frozen apples under the tree. It was a very misty day and they seem to feel protected in that kind of weather and will travel out into the  open more. I had to take these through my kitchen window or he would have been spooked. He is a young buck with small antlers, three points, but he was a big-un! He fed for awhile and finally , just before dark set in, wandered back into the bush.

Every time I have seen deer in the back yard it has been a good omen. I wonder what this one will bring?

  4. Pretty shots. The buck probably thinks he's well hidden. I hope he brings you good luck.

The ice crystals on your earlier post are lovely.

  12. Isn't that exciting? We are on a peninsula, and don't get deer. Thanks for sharing yours! If you have big bucks you can buy one of those trail cameras!

  14. I love seeing deer nearby too...we had three along the driveway a few nights ago, but they don't usually come too close to the house...maybe I'll try apples!

  19. Jenn - I love those cameras but sadly don't get enough deer around for that.

Susan- There you go! Set a few apples out and see if you can entice them!

Karen- Luckily lady! I only see them once in awhile.

Gill- I never tire of it either.

  20. There's just a magical quality to the light and the landscape in these photos. How wonderful that the deer graced it as well! I'm always delighted coming here, too. I'm taking a break from blogging for a while, but will still be following your blog, and will drop by!
