What do you see?Watery Wednesday, Outdoor Wednesday

Posted by Lorac Wednesday 25 January 2012

Unusual winter so far this year in Ontario. We are seeing milder temperatures than usual and in central to southern Ontario more rain as precipitation than snow. What little snow we have been getting has melted quickly. 1 1/2 hours north in the snow belt area, they have been getting snow. Good for the ski hills but even they opened late and have had a few too many mild days. Hard to make snow when it is above freezing so the base isn't as good as it may be.

So I am wondering...

What is the winter (or summer) like where you are? Do you notice a change or is it the same as it always is for this time of year? Worse? Better? I am curious to see the results from around the world. Leave me a little comment and I will write about the responses!

  2. Lovely photo-the sun's reflection on the water is so pretty. It is much milder here in Kansas than usual. We have only had a slight "dusting" of snow so far this year. But, it is Kansas and you never know what the January weather will be. There have been years in the past where it has been below zero for most of the month and other years where it has been in the 60's about every day. That's what I love about Kansas-the four definite seasons, the variety of weather, and the quick changes from day to day. Mickie :)

  4. Thanks Mickie. The weather here makes me a little nervous about February weather. It may be nasty!

It looks like we have the same weather here in South-West of Norway as you have.
We have more rain and wind than usual for this time of year.

  16. Winter has been most unusual in my part of Ontario. There are a couple of cold and snowy days followed by some mild melting days. The snow cover hasn't accumulated and most times the ground is bare of snow. A bit of snow heading in today followed by rising temperatures and rain tomorrow.

  20. This was a mild winter but it was nice at the cottage but I enjoy summer way more when I can take the boat out. Hopefully next winter will be more snow so the snowmobilers can have more fun. www.BalaRentals.com
