SkyWatch Friday

Posted by Lorac Thursday 3 February 2011

I have always liked this White Pine Tree. It has character. Big storm yesterday left us with about another foot of snow. Today is minus 25 Celcius and bright and sunny!

More skies to see at SkyWatch Friday!

  6. Trees help to give us a sense of place, don't they? It sure looks cold there!

  7. That tree is beautiful. Your photo made me think of a Group of Seven painting.

  9. Oh that is a chilly day for you but a beautiful view, with the pine tree standing in the spot light amid the snowy fields. Thanks for sharing with Sky Watch Friday and have a great weekend.

  10. It wasn't as cold here today but it was cold! That's a gorgeous shot! Love the tree as well as the sky!

  18. The lone pine is quite eye-catching and photogenic! Lovely scenes like this are the silver lining in the storm cloud.

  20. Minus 25 Celsius??? And Dutch people complain when it's minus 5 Celsius! Well some people actually like frost, because they hope to skate on natural ice. Especially those living in Friesland in the north of the Netherlands.

  22. I think it's a wonderful winter scene.
Minus 25 C ... Oh my, that's really cold. Overhere it's about 10 C plus, winter is completely gone ...
    Enjoy your weekend.

  24. That tree certainly does have character and it looks lovely up against that winter sky. Stay warm though, I can feel the cold just looking your photo!

  27. It's cold and real winter where you live.
    Great photo.

Here in Oslo we did have the coldest November and December for more 100 years, but suddenly: January very mild...

  28. Tell that sun to get to work! But it is bright and clear, a little compensation. - Margy

  29. Pat Says:
  30. I like that white pine, too. The blue shadows on the snow make it look even colder! Keep warm. I can't imagine living in such a cold climate. You are hardy souls up north!

  31. Judy Says:
  32. I agree - character! I spent some time trying to imagine the scene with the goldenrod blooming, but couldn't. I don't know if I was daydreaming, or screaming for colour...

  33. What? Minus 25 and sunny ?? Thought those trees should freeze at that temperature??? :)
