Watery Wednesday, Frozen State of Mind

Posted by Lorac Wednesday, 9 December 2009

Watery Wednesday
I love this day. Warm and cozy inside while there is a blizzard outside! They haven't even plowed the road yet and it is already 10:00 am! In the last hour there has been over 2 inches of snow for a total of 7 inches. Little Chick-a-dees seem to love this weather and are are fluttering all around sending out their distinctive call, chick-a-dee-dee-dee!

It looks surreal, all covered in white, as a bridal dress for winter! The snow muffles sound and it is very quiet. So quiet I can hear the snow falling with great plops on the ground!

This Wednesday's water is of the frozen kind!

  12. A winter wonderland. When we lived in snow country we enjoyed staying inside by the fire and watching it snow. When it warmed up I even enjoyed the exercise of shoveling, but then, we usually didn't get much and it wasn't often.

  14. I agree with you about the feeling of a snowfall - peace and quiet, and it makes everything looks great. Now I feel like finding those snowshoes I bought on sale last year and giving them a try.

Thanks for visiting my photoblog. Yes, the Leslie Street spit is simply amazing. You can walk, bike, run, rollerblade...but no cars, which makes it safe and peaceful. There is also a shuttle on weekends I think (check the website). I am sure you will love it. In the spring the bird walks are amazing and informative as there are birds everywhere arriving from parts south. It is a gem and we need more places like it.

Hope to see you at my site again.

  17. Very pretty! The scenery in your first two photos reminds me of my sister's place. What was your total snowfall amount? My friends in La Crosse, Wisconsin received 16 inches today. =(

  20. So far we've had a smidge of snow and tonight it's blowing a gale. Your shots really convey the texture of the storm. Congrats on the nomination for the Canadian Blog Awards!

  38. Wow! It's like a whiteout! It's beautiful. I'd love to be in some snow to get some interesting shots, but I'm glad I don't have to deal with it on a daily basis! I'll enjoy your photos instead! We've got a bit of rainfall today, nothing to shout about. But there's snow in the Sierras, which is good for the skiers. Thanks for stopping by at my WW.
