The spirits still sing in the rustic longhouses.
For many beautiful skies the world over go to SkyWatch Friday!
Hi Lorac,
I enjoyed the clear blue sky with the long houses, snow, and melting snow. Thanks for the nice comment on my SkyWatch post.
Very nice--I grew up next to the Seneca Res on the Allegheny River headwaters. Nice to see this sense of culture & history remembered.
PS: Powder snow packs very tightly, I think because of the geometry of the crystals--an avalanche, plow, or grooming machine will set it up very tightly (even though you can't make a snowball out of it). But moguls skiing are formed naturally, too, as the wind works the snow, like sand formed into ripples and dunes.
Fabulous blue skies and longhouses... hope the spirits sing there for a long time to come.
Thank you for the beautiful sky. I haven't seen a blue sky for a couple of weeks.
Such clear skies!

This looks really interesting and you had a beautiful day with that sky!
Great photo, like seeing what bloggers find to share in their local area and history.
Like your canadian blogger button as well, is that something you created yourself?
Great pictures! Wouldn't I love the opportunity to visit the longhouses! ~karen
Pearl Maple, I didn't create the Canadian blogger button and can't remember where I found it either! Someone did a great job on it!
Great picture, lovely setting and touch of history under that blue sky. Thanks for sharing.
Nice image!
Amazing structures. And under a bright blue sky - looks as if your snow is melting at last.
Awesome! Quite a piece of history.
